DENVER – The No. 48-ranked University of Denver women's tennis team (18-4) will play No. 17-ranked Oklahoma State in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship on Friday at 11 a.m. PT/12 p.m. MT.

The winner of Friday's match between the Stanford Regional's No. 3 seed Denver and No. 2 seed Oklahoma State will advance to Saturday's second round to take on the winner of Friday's second first-round match between the regional's No. 1 seed and No. 6-ranked Stanford against No. 4 seed Weber State.

Last Time Out:
DU captured its ninth-straight Summit League tournament title – winning the crown in every season since joining the conference in 2013-14 – sweeping Omaha and North Dakota, 4-0, in the semifinal and final, respectively.

Series History Against the Field:
Oklahoma State: Denver and Oklahoma State have met three times previously with OSU claiming wins each time, though they have not played since a March 31, 2011, match in Denver that OSU won, 5-2. This will be the teams' first postseason and neutral-site meeting.

Stanford: Should both teams advance out of the first round, this would be the first meeting between Denver and Stanford.

Weber State: DU holds a win in the only previous meeting between Denver and Weber State. DU swept WSU, 7-0, in Denver on March 4, 2022.

Denver's NCAA Tournament History:
This is Denver's ninth-straight appearance in the NCAA tournament and its 12th overall. Twice, DU has advanced out of the first round, most recently in 2017 when DU upset No. 25 USC, 4-2, before falling in the second round to host and No. 7-ranked Texas Tech, 4-1.

DU's first NCAA tournament win came in 2008 when it swept Long Beach State in the first round. DU would fall in the next round, 4-0, to host and No. 7-ranked UCLA.
