Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Denver women's tennis player and junior Andrea Burguete Beltran captured the main 2023 Bedford Cup in the Mountain singles title to wrap up DU's first fall tournament of the year.
 
Beltran was one of three Denver student-athletes to win a singles title at the end of the four-day tournament, hosted by the Air Force Academy. Sophomore Caroline Driscoll captured the Charlie Draw title while fellow sophomore Anastasia Simonov won the Echo Draw.
 
Two of the three finals were all-Denver showdowns, starting with the Alpha Draw, which saw Beltran defeat graduate student Britt Pursell after coming back from a set down.
 
The Echo Draw final saw Simonov top freshman Karsyn Evans face off after both won their semifinal matches earlier in the day on Sunday.
 
In the Delta Draw, sophomore Claudia Martinez de Velasco was set for the third-place match and earned the win in a walkover.
 
Denver continues its fall schedule when it travels to Texas for the Baylor Invite on September 29 – October 1.
