Box Score WACO, Texas – University of Denver women's tennis player Andrea Burguete Beltran fell in the round of 32 of the 2024 NCAA Division I Singles & Doubles Championships, hosted by Baylor, on Wednesday morning.
 
Burguete Beltran kept things close in the first set against the No. 43-ranked Theadora Rabman from North Carolina but dropped the match, 7-5 6-2.
 
Twice in the opening set, Burguete Beltran rallied from a break down to level things at 2-2 and then again at 4-4. Play remained on serve through 5-5 when Rabman earned her third break of the set and was able to serve it out at 7-5.
 
Burguete Beltran held serve at love to begin the second set but surrendered a break in her next service game to go down, 1-2. She got deep into Rabman's service games twice later in the set but was unable to get the break while the UNC player added a second break of her own on the deuce point for 5-2. Despite a fight from Burguete Beltran in the final game, Rabman successfully served it out, 6-2.
 
At this year's tournament, Burguete Beltran became the fourth Denver women's tennis player to win a singles match at the NCAA National Championships and the first since Julia O'Loughlin in 2017-18 with her round of 64 win over FIU's Oyinlomo Quadre on Tuesday.
 
The University of Denver women's tennis team's fall season is now complete for 2024. The Pioneers' 2025 dual schedule will begin in January and will be announced in the coming weeks.
