DENVER – The No. 27-ranked University of Denver women's tennis team (7-2, 0-0 Summit) begins a four-match road trip in Texas where it will face two of its fellow nationally-ranked teams on Friday and Saturday.
DU will first play at No. 40-ranked Baylor on Friday at 12 p.m. CT/11 a.m. MT before traveling to No. 37 SMU on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT/12 p.m. MT.
Last Time Out:
Denver hosted its final home match in February when it welcomed Utah on February 16. DU swept the match, 4-0, giving the Pioneers their fourth consecutive win against a Power-5 opponent and their first sweep since 2021.
Helping lead the way was junior
Andrea Burguete Beltran, who topped the then No. 59-ranked singles player in straight sets at No. 1 singles and was then recognized as the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week for the second week in a row.
Series History:
Baylor: This will be just the third meeting between DU and Baylor with the Bears winning the first two matches, both by 5-2 scorelines. Their most recent meeting was also hosted at Baylor on March 21, 2023.
SMU: Denver and SMU have met three times previously with the Mustangs holding a 2-1 lead head-to-head. The teams met last season on March 23 in a 4-1 win for SMU, though DU's first win against SMU also came on the road (4-3 on March 6, 2004).

The University of Denver women's tennis team begins the month of March on the road with its first Summit League dual of the season, playing at St. Thomas on March 2 before visiting Minnesota for another Power-5 match on March 3.
