DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team (4-2, 0-0 Summit) will head to the Pacific Northwest for two road matches on February 10-11.
DU will first play against Portland in a neutral-site match on Saturday, February 10, before playing at Oregon on Sunday, February 11. Denver and Portland will meet at 2 p.m. PT/3 p.m. MT on Saturday while DU and Oregon are slated for a 11 a.m. PT/12 p.m. MT start.
Last Time Out:
Denver hosted two Power-5 teams at home, coming away with a 4-2 win against Kansas State on February 2 and then adding a 4-1 win against Iowa on February 4. Sophomore
Caroline Driscoll clinched both overall victories for Denver while also clinching both doubles points with her partner and fellow sophomore
Louise Wikander. Driscoll was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week following her four wins across the two matches.
Series History:
Portland: This will be just the second time that Denver and Portland have faced off in DU's Division I history and the first time since a 6-0 DU win in Denver on April 5, 2003.
Oregon: Denver and Oregon have met six times previously with the Ducks holding a 4-2 record though DU has won two of the last three meetings. DU hosted Oregon in their most recent match on February 6, 2002, in a 4-2 Oregon win. DU has not made the trip to Oregon since March 10, 2013, also a 5-2 win for the Ducks.
