LAST TIME OUT:
Denver posted the program's highest road and postseason score with its 197.975 performance at the 2024 Big 12 Gymnastics Championship on March 23. DU earned at least a 49.400 on all four events including a program postseason record-tying 49.600 on floor.

Three DU gymnasts landed All-Big 12 Championship Team honors by way of their podium finishes in the meet: senior
Jessica Hutchinson on vault and floor, senior
Bella Mabanta on beam, and sophomore
Mila Brusch on vault.

EYE ON THE RANKINGS:
DU moved up two spots to No. 6 in the country following the Big 12 Championship. It is the second-highest ranking Denver has held entering NCAA Regionals, behind only 2019's No. 5 ranking.

The team finished the year with top-15 rankings on all four events for the first time since 2019 as well, led by a No. 5 ranking on bars and top-10 finishes on vault and beam.

Senior
Jessica Hutchinson ended with top-eight national rankings in the all-around, and on vault, beam and floor – highlighted by her No. 4 final ranking in the all-around. Freshman
Madison Ulrich finished ranked No. 22 in the all-around while senior
Rylie Mundell is tied for No. 22 in the final bars rankings.

QUICK HITS:
- Hutchinson became the first Denver gymnast to earn four first-team regular-season All-America honors in a single season, doing so in the all-around and on vault, beam and floor.
- She now owns a combined eight All-America nods in her career.
- Denver set program records for highest NQS overall (197.825), on bars (49.510) and on floor (49.530). Its final vault and beam NQSs also rank in the top three in DU history.
- Four DU gymnasts set top-10 NQS individual records as well: Hutchinson (all five events including tying the all-around record at 39.740), Ulrich (all-around, bars), Mundell (bars) and Mabanta (beam).
- DU has advanced to NCAA Regionals for the 25th time in a row and is seeking a seventh team berth to the NCAA National Championships – and its first in back-to-back years since 2007 and 2008.
NCAA REGIONALS FORMAT:
NCAA Regionals is hosted at four campus sites across the country with each site holding four meets across four days. Nine teams and multiple individual qualifiers compete at each site, all seeking berths to the NCAA National Championships.

The two lowest-ranked teams at each site compete in the NCAA Regional First Round with the winner advancing to the NCAA Regional Second Round. The top two teams in each session of the NCAA Regional Second Round advance to the NCAA Regional Final where two team berths to the NCAA National Championships are on the line.

Individual qualification for NCAA Nationals is also determined by competition in the NCAA Regional Second Round.

SCOUTING THE BRUINS:
Denver and UCLA met once in the regular season during a quad meet in Denver on January 21 where DU topped UCLA, 197.175-196.550. They have met five times previously in postseason competition, most recently the 2019 NCAA Championship Final in which UCLA was third overall and Denver placed fourth. The teams have not met at NCAA Regionals since 2009 in Iowa City where UCLA finished second and DU was fourth.

The Bruins are led in part by regular-season All-Americans in Selena Harris (all-around, vault, bars and beam) and Emma Malabuyo (beam).

SCOUTING THE SUN DEVILS:
DU and Arizona State also met in Denver during the regular season, doing so in DU's home opener on January 14 in a 196.900-196.375 win for Denver. This will be their fifth postseason meeting and the first since the 2006 Ames Regional where ASU finished in first and Denver placed fourth.

ASU is led by all-arounders Jada Mangahas and Hannah Scharf. Anaya Smith narrowly missed a regular-season All-America nod on vault, finishing No. 18 nationally.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES:
DU also competed against Washington during the 2024 regular season, opening the year at the Super 16 in Las Vegas where Denver won their session (196.850) and UW placed third (195.000). They have met in the postseason six times before, most recently at the 2019 Corvallis Regional Second Round with DU winning the session and Washington finishing third.

Skylar Killough-Wilhelm finished the year ranked No. 23 in the all-around to lead the Huskies and just missed top-25 finishes on bars and beam.
