DU set for neutral match against Nebraska on Saturday, meeting at No. 25 Baylor on Sunday

DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team is headed back to the state of Texas for the second weekend in a row to play two Power-4 opponents on February 1-2.

DU will first play a neutral-site match against Nebraska on Saturday, February 1, at 10 a.m. CT/9 a.m. MT before taking on host and No. 25-ranked Baylor on Sunday, February 2, at 2 p.m. CT/1 p.m. MT.

LAST TIME OUT:
Denver headed to the 2025 ITA Kickoff Weekend, hosted by Texas A&M on January 24-25. On the first day of play, DU won the doubles point against TCU before falling, 1-4, overall. The Pioneers responded by winning their first dual of the 2025 season just a day later, sweeping South Florida, 4-0.

As part of the team's performance during the weekend, senior Andrea Burguete Beltran and junior Marley Lambert earned a 6-4 win in doubles over the then-No. 12-ranked team of Otway/Pascual from TCU. The Summit League then recognized the DU duo as the league's first Doubles Peak Team of the Week for the season.

Series History:
Nebraska: DU is 0-3 against Nebraska all-time, though Saturday's match will be the first between the teams in nearly a decade. They last played on February 27, 2015, at Nebraska in a 6-1 win for the Huskers. The teams have never met at a neutral site.

Baylor: Denver is also 0-3 against Baylor after meeting the Bears once in each of the last three seasons. In all three previous meetings, DU won two points off BU including in their most recent match on February 23, 2024, also in Waco in a 4-2 Baylor win.

Up Next:
The University of Denver women's tennis team wraps up its season-opening seven-match road trip in San Diego, California, on February 8-9, playing at San Diego on February 8 and then at San Diego State on February 9.
