DENVER – The University of Denver women's triathlon announced today that the program has signed
Samantha Perry to join the Pioneers for the 2026 fall season.
"I chose the University of Denver because it offers a strong academic environment, an awesome balance of big city and outdoors activities, and a team culture that feels like a true community,"
Perry said. "DU's quarter system really appeals to me because it gives me the flexibility to explore different areas of study and find the major that fits me best while still staying on track academically.
"On the athletic side, DU stood out to me because the triathlon team is competitive and ambitious yet still supportive. It's a great environment to train hard and have fun doing it. I love that the team is growing and that I have the chance to represent a team that's building something special. Plus, there are mountains nearby. Denver's location is a cyclist's dream come true, but it also offers the balance of city life and strong academics that I wanted."
Perry is set to join DU from The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, where she lettered in swimming, track and cross county. She was named the team's cross country MVP in 2022 and is expected to graduate from Bolles in spring 2026.
A USA Triathlon All-American in 2022 and 2023, Perry has competed at the club level with SLAP (Swim Like a Pro) High Performance Triathlon Team and Velobrew Cycling. She won the USA Cycling Junior Cup series in 2024 and was the Florida state 2023 time trial champion and 2022 road race champion.
Perry enjoys traveling and outdoor activities in her free time, and her favorite experiences include lobster diving in the Florida Keys, biking Mount Lemmon in Arizona, hiking the Fourth of July Trail in Colorado and exploring Germany and Greece.
Among the areas that she is interested in studying at DU are psychology, marketing and math.
