Maira Carreau of the University of Denver women's triathlon program has been named to the 2025 West All-Region Team by the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association
Carreau placed sixth at the Western Regional Championships on Oct. 26 at Marine Creek Reservoir in Fort Worth, Texas, clocking in with a total time of 1:03:49.
The La Prairie, Quebec, native was one of the first athletes out of the water by posting the fifth-fastest swim time (10:00). She stayed near the front for the entire race, including recording the 12th-fastest 20K bike split (33:49) and produced the fifth-quickest 5K run in 18:22.
This is Denver's seventh all-time All-Region honor and Carreau's third such award in her career, as she was also named to the All-West Team in 2024 and the Eastern squad in 2023. The University of Arizona took the other six spots on the 2025 All-West squad.
Denver placed fourth at the 2025 Western Regionals with 365 points, just one behind third-place South Dakota.
