Why DU:
“I chose DU for its strong academic programs along with its very decorated athletic programs. I felt like I would be pushed to my best potential both in the classroom and on the race course, which was very important to me. I also absolutely love the location of DU. As a student, you have the ability to experience the city life but also are able to take some time for yourself on peaceful hiking trails around the city.”
Why Triathlon:
“I grew up as a very competitive swimmer. I practiced nine times a week for many years. Once I got to high school, I discovered track and field. I ended up loving running way more than I thought I would and eventually became a full-time runner, which made my swim career come to an end. I still swam as cross training for running but never raced. I then discovered triathlon which was the best of both worlds. I was able to combine my love for swimming and running into one sport! Not only is the training tons of fun, but the triathlon community is the most welcoming, supportive and fun community I've ever been a part of.”
