Pioneers Off to Georgia for Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic

Stroke play set to begin on Thursday
DENVER – The University of Denver golf team makes the trip down south for one of its favorite tournaments of the year, the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. The stroke play portion of the tournament is set to begin on Thursday with one round.
The tournament, hosted by Georgia, uses a unique setup: one round of stroke play where the top eight teams then move into the red bracket for match up the following two days. There is also a consolation bracket, the black bracket.
The field is one of the most impressive of the season, featuring 10 teams inside the top 75 of the most recent Golfstat rankings, including three in the top 15.
Head coach Lindsay Kuhle, who has played and coached in this tournament in the past, is going with the lineup of Mary Weinstein, Sophie Newlove, Camille Enright, Alyson Bean and Trussy Li.
Weinstein is coming winning her third Summit League Golfer of the Week award for her play in the ASU Ping Invitational, notching her fifth top-10 finish of the season.
