COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – The University of Denver women's tennis team began its 2022 fall schedule with a pair of doubles victories at the Bedford Cup hosted by the Air Force Academy on Thursday.
 
DOUBLES FIRST ROUND – Alpha Draw
Taylor Melville/Britt Pursell def. Holly Stewart/Pauline Ernstberger (Boise State): 8-6
Sol O'Lideadha/Lola O'Lideadha (Idaho State) def. Anastasia Simonov/Caroline Driscoll: 8-7(4)
 
DOUBLES FIRST ROUND – Bravo Draw
Claudia Martinez de Velasco/Andrea Burguete Beltran def. Yijia Jiao/Tina Li (BYU): 8-6
 
The Bedford Cup continues on Friday with the continuation of doubles play beginning at 9 a.m. Singles play also gets underway on Friday with six Pioneers appearing across three draws with play set to begin at 9 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Two rounds of singles play will be competed on Friday.
