DENVER – University of Denver senior Britt Pursell was named the TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Tennis Peak Performer of the Week for the second-straight week, the league announced on Tuesday.
 
Pursell captured two singles wins in Denver's matches at No. 67 Harvard and Boston on March 11 and 12, starting with a 6-2 6-4 win in No. 3 singles against Harvard's Angel You to even the team scores at 1-1 and setting DU up for a 4-3 win.
 
She lost just one more game in her second win of the weekend, claiming a 6-3 6-4 victory against Boston's Kaitlin Tan and moving Denver within a point of victory over BU – which DU would win 4-3 as well.
 
This is a Summit League-leading third award of the season for Pursell and the eighth of her career. DU has now won eight straight Peak Performer of the Week awards – doing so in every week of the season thus far except for Week 1, before Denver had started its season.
 
No. 40-ranked DU does not play next weekend before continuing on the road for three matches the following week, first visiting No. 53 Baylor on March 21 and then No. 69 SMU on March 23. Denver resumes Summit League play when it travels to Western Illinois on March 25.
