DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team finished the 2025 at the No. 13 spot in the final Road to Nationals rankings, which were released on Monday.
Denver boosted its national team rankings by five spots after its sixth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Regional Final. DU held the No. 18 spot entering NCAA Regionals but made the jump in the national rankings after upsetting then-No. 13 Stanford and tying No. 4 Utah in the second round to earn its spot in the regional final meet.
DU went on to upset then-No. 10 Minnesota in the NCAA Regional Final, placing third overall and behind only Utah and UCLA, which both competed in the NCAA National Championship Final where UCLA finished as the national runner-up and Utah placed fourth overall.
Final team rankings are determined by teams' advancement and scores within NCAA competition – either at NCAA Regionals or NCAA Nationals – and added to their final regular-season NQS.
Final team event and individual rankings are determined solely by regular-season NQS.
With its No. 13 final ranking, Denver has now been ranked inside the top 15 nationally at the end of the season for 11 consecutive years. DU also extended its streak of holding a top-25 final national ranking in every season under Joy S. Burns Head Women's Gymnastics Coach
Melissa Kutcher-Rinehart.
Denver saved its best performances of the year for when it mattered most at NCAA Regionals, starting with its season-high 197.650 at the NCAA Second Round. DU backed it up with a 197.350 in the NCAA Regional Final, which was its third highest score of the year and was only three tenths away from qualifying for NCAA Nationals. DU went 48-for-48 in hit routines across both days of NCAA Regionals competition.
Three DU gymnasts advanced to the NCAA Nationals Championships – tied for the most in a single season and the most since 2004. Sophomore
Madison Ulrich placed No. 16 overall in the all-around with a 39.325 while collecting three second-team WCGA Postseason All-America honors, doing so in the all-around and on bars and beam. Graduate student
Rylie Mundell and fifth-year senior
Rosie Casali closed their gymnastics careers with hit routines on bars (9.850) and vault (9.7125), respectively. Mundell narrowly missed an All-America nod on bars, tying for No. 12 in her semifinal
