DENVER – University of Denver women's triathlon announced today that the program has signed
Lucy Eggleston to join the Pioneers for the 2026 fall season.

The Randleman, North Carolina, native currently competes for Podium Coaching Group after previously racing for E3 Endurance. A five-time USA Triathlon All-American, Eggleston won the U.S. 2024 Age Group Sprint National Championship (16-19) and was named the 2024 USA Triathlon Female Athlete of the Year (age 16-19) while also ranking first in her age group (16-17). Additionally, she placed seventh in the age 16-19 sprint at the 2024 World Triathlon Championships in Torremolinos-Andalucia, Spain.
Currently attending U.S. Performance Academy, Eggleston began high school at Greensboro Day School where she was twice named all-state in cross country and combined for eight all-conference honors in cross country and track from seventh to 10th grade. She was also named GDS's varsity cross country MVP three years in a row from 2021-2023.
Outside of sports, Eggleston enjoys cooking, doing crochet, playing the violin and listening to true crime podcasts, and she is also passionate about coaching and helping kids develop and discover triathlon. She has also helped the North Carolina Wildlife Habitat Foundation (NCWHF), E3 Youth Triathlon and Fairfield Methodist Church.
Eggleston intends to major in physiology in health and disease while obtaining her master's degree in sports coaching at DU.
