DENVER – The University of Denver had six triathletes named 2023 Scholar All-Americans by the College Triathlon Coaches Association.
Junior
Clara Normand and freshmen
Alex Campbell and
Maira Carreau were recognized as First-Team Scholar All-American honors by producing a 3.5 grade-point average and finishing in the top 20 at the Collegiate National Championships on Nov. 11 in Tempe, Arizona. Carreau won the Division-I National Championship while Campbell placed 16th and Normand came in 20th.

Avarie Faulkner (46th) and graduate student
Maren York (52nd) were recognized as Scholar All-American Honorable Mentions for also producing a 3.5 GPA but placing outside of the top 20 at nationals.
As a team, the Pioneers finished with 3.59 combined GPA during the fall quarter and earned recognition as a CTCA Scholar All-American Team (3.2 team GPA or higher).
Denver finished fourth at the 2023 Collegiate National Championship after losing out on a tiebreaker for third place with the University of San Francisco. The Pioneers placed in the top four in all five meets during the season, including winning the Aquathlon Eliminator duel against Colorado Mesa on Sept. 2 and the Eastern Regional National Qualifier at Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, on Oct. 14.
