Denver Men’s Soccer Picked Third in WCC Preseason Poll

Kyle McGowan and Bryce Willoughby picked to 2026 West Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Preseason Team

DENVER – The University of Denver men's soccer program begins its debut season in the West Coast Conference this fall having been picked third in the coaches' preseason poll, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Denver received one first place vote and was picked behind Portland (6 FPV) and San Diego (2 FPV).

The WCC also released its 11 student-athlete preseason team on Tuesday. A pair of fifth-year Pioneers in Bryce Willoughby and Kyle McGowan were named to the WCC Preseason Team.

Denver will begin the 2026 season on Thursday, August 20, when the Pioneers welcome Cal Poly to the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. Opening kick on ESPN+ is set for 7 p.m. MT.
